Sunlit Splendor
Jan Zumbach was the leader of the 303rd Polish Fighter Squadron during WWII.
He was the first allied pilot to engage in Combat with a German FW-190. During the
Battle of Britain he was credited with 8 confirmed kills and 1 probable. He finished his
service with 12 confirmed kills and was awarded the Virtuti militari, Poland’s highest
decoration for heroism and courage in the face of the enemy at war.
